Rainforests are crucial to our survival and yet we cut thousands of acres down by the day. Modern society contains airplanes, microwaves, and plastic cards, causing us to be surprised to learn that basic parts of our daily lives depend on tropical rainforests. However, some of our basic foods, raw materials, and medicines come from these forests. In order to secure the survival and future development of these important products, we must protect the rainforest ecosystem where they originated.
