Introduction to India and its Population

India, located in Asia, is one of the largest countries in the world. India's population is actually what has been capturing the attention of scholars wordl wide. The total population is around 990 million, making it the second-most populated country in the world. In Aust 1947 families averaged a number of six children each.

Now, the average is about three and one half children per family. Though this still poses a threat, the decrease is quite apparent. By the middle of the upcomming century, India is estimated to exceed the Chinese population, the current most populated country in the world.
