Ty's One-Man Band

ACTIVITIES:

1. The one-man band suddenly shows up at the pond one day, and at the end of the story he slips away leaving Ty and his friends playing music. Who do you think Andro is and where did he come from? Write a paragraph discussing this.

2. In what ways did Andro, the one-man band, change the feelings of the people in the story: What did they learn from him? Write about it in a paragraph.

3. Be your own one-person band. Start with rubber bands, an empty box, and a pencil. Try different materials to get the sound you want. Perform in front of the class.

4. At the end of the story, the one-man band quietly slips away. Write a story that tells where Andro went next and what he did there.
