The Sky is Full of Stars

ACTIVITIES:

1. Long, long ago, people used the stars to find their way on long journeys. Who are some who study the stars today? How do they make use of what they learn from the stars? You may use any resources to help you find the information. Write a paragraph about this.

2. What are some of the most interesting facts about space that you learned by reading this book? Write a paragraph explaining these things. You may also draw pictures to help explain your ideas.

3. Follow the directions on pages 29 and 30 to make your own star pictures. You can show and explain them to the class in a darkened room.

4. On a clear, starry night, study the sky. See if you can find the constellations described in this book. Record on paper which ones you see and where they are in the night. Draw what you see, as well.
