SIDEWALK STORY

ACTIVITIES:

1. Plan lunch for your class. First decide what to serve. Then find out how much it will cost. Try to get actual amounts by asking parents or checking menus. Make a poster displaying your lunch with pictures of the items.

2. Use ads in the newspaper to find out how much a million dollars will buy. List each item you choose and its cost. Add your total. Please, just one house and car per person!

3. Find ads for food or items you use. Make up math problems for your classmates to solve.

4. List what you think should be done to help the Browns. Whom would you contact to make it happen?

5. Draw a diagram that shows the characters in this story and how they feel about each other. Put yourself in the diagram and show how you will help.
