Hungry, Hungry Sharks

ACTIVITIES:

1. This book gives interesting facts about many different kinds of sharks. Tell which kind of shark you think is the most interesting and explain why in a paragraph.

2. Sharks were alive millions of years ago, even before the dinosaurs. Now sharks are still alive and dinosaurs are not. Why do you think that sharks have survived all these years? Describe this in a paragraph.

3. Reread pages 38/39 of the book. Then make up a story about how one of these objects got inside a shark.

4. A whale shark can be 50 feet long. Measure that distance in the hallway or on the school yard by using masking tape or string that has been pre-measured. Then take the class outside to observe your measurement. Try to imagine a shark that size!
