PIPPI IN THE

SOUTH SEAS

ACTIVITIES:

1. List the things that Pippi and her friends do to keep Jim and Buck from stealing the pearls. Pick one action and describe in detail in a paragraph what you would have done differently if you had been there.

2. What real person you know is like Pippi? Describe this person and tell how he or she is like Pippi in a paragraph.

3. Use a world map to trace Pippi's voyage to Kurrekurredutt Island. Draw a map of the island and show the location of important places in the story.

4. Make a model of the island. Use flour and water or papier-mache to build the island and the caves on a large piece of cardboard. Add stones, stick, and other objects to make the trees, plants, the hut, and whatever else is appropriate.
