THE MAGIC LISTENING CAP

ACTIVITIES:

1. Think of a similar folktale to the Japanese ones you read. In what ways is it similar and different to one in the book. Write a paragraph discussing this.

2. Make 2 columns labeled Problem and Solution. Under the Problem heading, list 4 problems presented in these stories and then their Solutions.

3. Draw a series of pictures to show the main events in one of these stories. Use a thick brush and black or red paint or markers. Include captions to explain.

4. Imagine that you could be a character in any of these stories. Which would you be and why? Retell the story with yourself as the main character.
