Through Grandpa's Eyes

ACTIVITIES:

1. Grandpa is blind, but he has his own way of seeing. He shares this way of seeing with John. Describe some things John learns to see through Grandpa's eyes by writing a paragraph discussing them.

2. What good deed has Grandpa done for John? In what way is John doing a good deed for Grandpa? Write a paragraph explaining this.

3. Try seeing through Grandpa's eyes. Have the class close their eyes and listen to the sounds around them. Have them write or draw pictures of the sounds they hear. First you need to do this at home to show the class. You may take the class outdoors to do this, as well.

4. Draw a picture of one way a blind person could arrange his or her closet so that it would be easy to choose clothes for each day. Be very specific about this. Label your picture clearly.
