Louis Braille

ACTIVITIES:

1. Blind people are disabled. In what ways might blindness limit your activities? What things could you do just as well as people who can see? Write about this in a paragraph.

2. How is life easier for blind people today than it was 200 years ago? Discuss this in a paragraph.

3. Braille is a system of dots. Using the alphabet printed on the back cover of the book, copy the dots that spell your first and last name. Do the same for each of your classmates.

4. Try to imagine what life was like for Louis Braile. Walk around your classroom blindfolded. Have a friend guide you while you try a trip outside.. Write about what your blindfold walk is like and how it feels in a paragraph.
